In six days of travel through marvellously productive farmed Western Cape landscape they were able to see the best of good agricultural practice on all sorts of farms. They also witnessed the power of agriculture to do good.

Soil improvements, connecting to markets, harvesting natural capital and the use of new agronomic tools such as biopesticides all came under scrutiny on this agricultural study tour. Watch the photo story of the trip to get the picture!

The daily itinerary of visits was always rounded off with an evening discussion of the main points learned as well as how these can be applied in UK agriculture.

“We as farmers have been challenged in Africa by both farmers and ideas in ways that we would be unlikely to experience here in UK”
Chris Taylor, Shropshire vegetable grower

“It is refreshing and exciting to see people energetically tackling the biggest problems and seeking out the next revolution”
Joe Towers, Lancashire dairy farmer
